Ruth C. Gehman, 91, Denver, Coatesville VA Medical Center seamstress, volunteer

Ruth C. Gehman, 91, of Denver, formerly of Ephrata and Sinking Spring, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Wide Hollow, Terre Hill, to the late George W.S. and Fannie (Smith) Carles.

Ruth worked as a seamstress for the Coatesville VA Medical Center, and after retirement she became a volunteer there as well.

Ruth is survived by a son: Randal, husband of Sandra Gehman, of Denver; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Howard M. Gehman; a son: John Gehman; and nine siblings.

Graveside services will be private in the Steinmetz Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
