Ruth Eileen Gilbert, 78, loving and generous family woman, enjoyed music, Philly sports

Ruth Eileen Gilbert, 78, formerly of Terre Hill, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018.
Born in Martindale, she was the daughter of the late Harry I. and Catherine Robison Baxter, and the wife of the late Rodney K. Gilbert.
Eileen was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville. She loved the Lord, her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, cross stitch, and electronic solitaire. In addition she was an avid Flyers and Phillies fan, and will be remembered for always giving to those in need.
She is survived by her daughter: Wanda, wife of Jerry McKonly, Lancaster; her son: Allen, husband of Connie Gilbert, Ashburn, Va.; two sisters: Virginia Mullin; and Beth, wife of Otmar Renken; two brothers: Ralph, husband of Veanna Baxter; and Harold, husband of Kathy Baxter; three grandchildren: Kristin, wife of Ruiqi Zhang; Nicole, wife of Kevin Regan; and Brittany Gilbert; and four great-grandchildren: Luke, Peter, Isaac, and Joshua.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Eileen’s celebration of life service at Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 S. Hess St., Quarryville, on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Chris Eden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen’s memory may be sent to Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 S. Hess Street, Quarryville, or the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
