Ruth L. Shultz, 79, ELCO school bus driver, attended St. John’s UCC, was animal lover

Ruth L. (Renninger) Shultz, 79, of New Holland, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home March 30, 2016, following a lengthy illness.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Myers) Renninger, and was married to Charles F. Shultz Jr. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this past July 30.

Ruth is survived by her three sons: Donald, husband of Patricia (Herr) Shultz, of Strasburg; Timothy and Barry Shultz, both of New Holland; a daughter: Kimberly, wife of Jeffrey Koch, of New Holland; four grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Kristine, and Eric.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother: Clarence.

She retired from Eastern Lancaster County School District after 37 years of driving school bus. She enjoyed helping set up weddings and delivering flowers for her daughter at Jane’s Flower Shoppe. She was a member of St. John’s Center United Church of Christ, East Earl. Ruth enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and cooking. She also loved her cats and dogs.

The family would like to thank all the hospice staff who took care of Ruth.

Services were held April 4 at St. John’s Center UCC, East Earl, with the Rev. Bradley J. Haws and Pastor Timothy Heritage officiating. Interment took place in the Zeltenreich United Church of Christ Cemetery.
