Scott D. Novik, 62, VP at Landis Transportation, worker at Gay-Fad Nursery, racing crew chief

Scott D. Novik, 62, of Alleghenyville/Mohnton, died June 19, 2017, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in West Reading, a son of the late Michael and Anna M. (Hilbush) Novik, he was married to Cindy L. (Messer) Novik for 31 years.

A 1973 Gov. Mifflin High School graduate, he worked for his family business, Gay-Fad Nursery, Mohnton; and was vice-president and part owner of Landis Transportation, Reading. Scott was a member of Allegheny United Church of Christ, Alleghenyville. He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, and snowmobiling. He was crew chief with Funny Cars drag racing and cherished family times.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: Scott M., married to Ashley (Macosch) Novik; and Cory L. Novik, both of Mohnton; grandchildren: Chase and Lydon; and brothers: Michael R. Novik, partnered with Joe Czarnecki, Sodus Point, N.Y.; and Jeffrey S., married to Joann (Barracca) Novik, Millsboro, Del.

Join the family for a celebration of Scott’s life on Tuesday, July 11, at 6 p.m., from Good Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Reamstown.
