Tammy S. Sweigart, 53, Cocalico grad, worked at Cadmus Communications, nature lover

Tammy S. (Johnston) Sweigart, 53, of Benton, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She had been in ill health for the past six years.

Born July 20, 1963 in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Judy Johnston. She and her husband, Scott E. Sweigart, would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on April 10.

Tammy was a graduate of Cocalico High School in Lancaster County and also attended Brownstown Vocational Technical School. She had been employed as a makeup artist for Cadmus Communications in Lancaster County for 25 years. Tammy was an active member of the Hamline Church Fellowship, Benton. Her hobbies included crafts, painting, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed nature and watching wildlife.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Scott, are her three children: Chad E. Sweigart and his wife, Kimberly, of Denver; Mindy S. Sweigart and her boyfriend, Bryan Hamilton, of Rock Hill, S.C.; Timothy S. Sweigart and his fiancée, Stephanie, of Adamstown. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Destiny, Hailey, Paige, and Savannah; a sister: Cindy Moyer, and her husband, Jeff, of Shillington; a brother: Gene Johnston and his wife, Lisa, of Ephrata.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at noon at the Hamline Church Fellowship, S.R. 239, Benton, with Pastor Paul T. Gurba Jr. officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
