By on June 7, 2017

Violet S. Bauman, 84, of Ephrata, was called home on the morning of Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Ephrata, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Stauffer) Bauman.

Violet was a member of Mohler’s Church of the Brethren in Ephrata, where she served faithfully for many years in the nursery and helped out where needed. She was a loving and dedicated sister, mother and grandmother. Violet was an avid reader, enjoyed going to plays, and later working in the clothing store at the Cocalico Senior Center. However her real passion and love was for the Lord, her family and researching her family’s genealogy. She was always delighted to discuss any of them and facilitated many family reunions. Violet was excited to compile and publish a book titled ‘The Bauman Letters,’ and had hoped to publish additional family books in the future. She worked for Science Press and Skips Cutting before happily retiring.

Violet will be missed by her two sons and a daughter: Steven (Angie) Bauman, John (Dawn) Bauman, Billie Bauman; granddaughter and the apple of her eye: Brooke Bauman; brothers: Robert (Eva) Bauman, Richard (Terri) Bauman; a sister: Loretta (Burnell) Kreider; sisters-in-law: Ruby Bauman and Pat Bauman.

She was preceded to her reward by brothers: Frank and Donald Bauman; and a sister: Lily Mackey.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Friday, June 9, at Mohler’s Church of the Brethren, 21 E. Mohler Church Road, Ephrata, with Pastor Carl L. Brubaker officiating. The family will receive friends and family 30 minutes prior to the service. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Violet’s memory may be made to the Cocalico Senior Center; Heart of the Shepherd ministry, at heartoftheshepherd.com; or your favorite charity.
