William W. Hotaling, 87, Ephrata, Korea vet, N.Y. state corrections officer, 62-year Mason

William W. Hotaling, 87, formerly of New Holland, passed away peacefully April 21, 2016 at Ephrata Manor, Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Madeline Hotaling. He is survived by his wife: Joanne (Rollins) Hotaling; son: William; daughter-in-law: Kathryn, all from New Holland; and two grandchildren: Michael and Katelyn.
William was born in Coxsackie, N.Y., on April 7, 1929. He was a Korean War veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955, and a New York state corrections officer for 28 years, retiring in 1985. William was a member of United Methodist Church, Coxsackie, N.Y.; a 62-year Mason from Ark Lodge No. 48, and a member of American Legion Post No. 662. In William’s retirement, he enjoyed traveling, driving, woodworking, and going on cruises. He also loved spending time with family and working outdoors.
He enjoyed a loving marriage of nearly 60 years with his devoted wife. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor on Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, at heart.org.
