Supports Gordon

Ephrata Review,

I have recently attended events at which Rep. Gordon Denlinger spoke of his faith and his views on restoring our government and society.

There are a few in politics today who truly understand the importance that Godly values hold in our communities and in our nation, and fewer still, who hold those values personally. Rep. Denlinger is a quiet leader who is firm in his convictions. He is exactly the kind of person we need in this time of great challenge.

For some reason that I and so many do not understand, the Ephrata Republican Committee apparently has some hidden agenda in not supporting Gordon. This is more than a shame, it is a matter of deep concern to many of us in Ephrata who are Republican and who appreciate Gordon’s strong stand for the unborn and for the traditional view of marriage and family.

Thankfully, a strong majority in the Ephrata community support Rep. Denlinger and will stand with him in his run for state senate.

This is a response to Ginnie Good’s statement last week in the Ephrata Review. I am an Ephrata area committeeman and went through the endorsement process with the other committee people throughout the county. We met with the candidates and learned as much as we could about them to make a decision who we would endorse. I personally liked both of our choices but I knew Gordon personally and voted for him. I was in the minority and I don’t speak for the rest of the Ephrata area committee people. Now saying that, you as a voter , as well as the rest of the 250,000 voters involved in the 36th senate district, can choose to use the information the 173 committee people gave you ( through the endorsement process) and follow their opinion , or you can use the information you know and vote who YOU think would best serve the public. It is important to know that the 173 committee people ( 2 people from each voting precinct) cannot force you to vote for who they endorse. It is simply a tool of information for the voters to use if they choose to or if they cannot talk to the candidates themselves. Thank you Ginnie ,for being an important part of the GOP! Sincerely, Bob Landis
