Zimmermans married 60 years

G. Harold and Irene Zimmerman, of New Holland, formerly of Akron, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were wed Oct. 1, 1955 at Weaverland Mennonite Church, in a ceremony officiated by Bishop Paul Graybill.

Harold was employed by Victor F. Weaver, Inc.; and Irene worked for Walter Moyer Company. Together they enjoyed various community volunteer positions, including 40 years on the Pennsylvania Relief Sale Food Committee. Harold is an avid golfer.

The couple has four children: Cindy, wife of Cam Rouvre, of Akron; the late Reynold, husband of Ruthie Zimmerman, of Ephrata; Nelson, husband of Elaine Zimmerman, of Denver; and Brenda, wife of Kevin Murphy, of Ephrata; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Zimmermans celebrated the milestone with party at Garden Spot Village, given by their children.
