Firecracker course altered due to construction

The Ephrata Firecracker Run, set for July 4, will have a slightly altered course this year due to the Rte. 272 bridge construction project.

Once again, for the second year in-a-row, the race will start and end in Thomas Grater Park.

The following is the new course that will be used this year:

  • The race will begin in the park in front of the Ephrata Playhouse. Runners will proceed out along Cocalico St. to Fulton St.
  • Right on Fulton to Oak St.
  • Right on Oak St. to Queen St.
  • Left on Queen St. to State St.
  • Left on State St. to Pine St.
  • Right on Pine St. to Lincoln Ave.
  • Right on Lincoln Ave. to E. Main St.
  • Right on E. Main St. to Rail-Trail
  • Left onto Rail-Trail to Lemon St.

  • Right on Lemon St. to Pointview Ave.
  • Left on Pointview Ave. to Gerhart Ave.
  • Right on Gerhart Ave. to State St.
  • Right on State St. to Queen St.
  • Left on Queen St. to Oak St.
  • Right on Oak St. to Sunset Ave.
  • Left on Sunset Ave. to Vine St.
  • Left on Vine St. to sidewalk adjacent to pool.
  • Finish: adjacent to Ephrata Playhouse.
