Gingrich, Moser named top CHS senior athletes

Marissa Gingrich (left) and Spencer Moser were recently named the Outstanding Female and Male Athletes, respectively, at Cocalico High School.

The Cocalico High School Athletic Department recently held its annual Senior Athlete Recognition Night.

Athletes receiving the E. Jerry Brooks Academic/Athletic Medal included: Tabitha Derr, Gina Glass, Jacob Grasser, Daniel Graybill, Kyle Horning, Emily Johnson, Ethan Miller, Carrie Sensenig, Carly Showalter, Lauren Stricker and Jacob Terry. The Fackler/Hower Sportsmanship Medals were awarded to Gina Glass and Casey Kerschner.

Head coaches presented the Most Valuable Player plaques to the following athletes: Baseball – Jacob Terry; Boys’ Basketball – Spencer Moser; Girls’ Basketball – Marissa Gingrich; Bowling – Dan Hassler; Cheerleading – Trisha Gillott; Boys’ Cross Country – Aaron Longstaff; Girls’ Cross Country – Tabitha Derr; Field Hockey – Carrie Sensenig; Football – Jhet Janis; Golf – Ethan Miller; Boys’ Lacrosse – Aaron Longstaff; Girls’ Lacrosse – Katelyn Costanza; Boys’ Soccer – Daniel Graybill; Girls’ Soccer – Nicole Zwiercan; Softball – Sara Young; Boys’ Swimming – Collin Haines; Girls’ Swimming – Susanna Bearinger; Boys’ Tennis – Solomon Thorpe; Girls’ Tennis – Shannon Drexel; Boys’ Track & Field – Jhet Janis; Girls’ Track & Field – Carrie Sensenig; Boys’ Volleyball – Justis Lorah; Girls’ Volleyball – Gina Glass; Wrestling – Hilton Martin.

Marissa Gingrich and Carrie Sensenig were the Cocalico nominations for the Lancaster-Lebanon League A. Landis Brackbill Award.

The 2014 Outstanding Female Athlete is Marissa Gingrich and the 2014 Outstanding Male Athlete is Spencer Moser.
