Graybill earns another second at nationals

Cocalico graduate Savannah Graybill finished second at the U.S. National Skeleton Championships last weekend at Lake Placid, NY.

For the second year in-a-row, Cocalico graduate Savannah Graybill earned second place overall at the U.S. National Skeleton Championships held March 12-13 in Lake Placid, NY.

Graybill earned her second consecutive national championship silver medal with a combined time of 3:55.16. Graybill slid only the fifth-fastest time of the third heat, but posted the fastest time of the competition in the final heat (57.33) to maintain her overnight position.

Annie O’Shea won her second national title, finishing 1.76 seconds ahead of Graybill with a four-run combined time of 3:53.40. Lauren Salter threaded together a speedy third run to surpass Lauri Bausch, who was in bronze medal position after the first day of racing. Salter claimed the bronze medal with a total time of 3:55.56, while Bausch finished fourth.
