Lefever, Zamrin earn all-state honors

Ephrata senior Zach Lefever and Cocalico junior Jamie Zamrin both were honored as First Team, All-State performers last Tuesday as the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association announced its First and Second Teams.

Lefever, who will run cross country and track at the University of Pittsburgh next fall, finished out his senior season with a second-place finish in the L-L League, a third-place at Districts and a fourth-place medal at States.

He was joined on the boys’ First Team by McCaskey’s Nathan Henderson, a State runner-up, as well as Noah Affolder, Carlisle; Sam Affolder, Carlisle; Noah Beveridge, Butler; Ben Bumgarner, Waynesburg Central; Ryan Campbell, Council Rock North; Nicholas Dahl, Germantown Friends; Ryan James, Cardinal O’Hara; and Connor McMenamin, Souderton.

Zamrin was a First Team selection on the girls’ side after claiming both the L-L League and District Three titles, and earning an eighth-place medal at States.

Other members of the girls’ First Team included: Katie Dammer, Abington Heights; Aislinn Devlin, Downingtown West; Lauren Finikiotis, Oakland Catholic; Ariana Gardizy, North Penn; Annie Glodek, Perkiomen Valley; Anna Juul, Unionville; Taryn Parks, Greencastle-Antrim; Clara Savchik, North Allegheny; and Alison Willingmyre, Wilson.
