Ephrata senior Gabe Sensenig took home top honors at the Lancaster-Lebanon League Boys Soccer Coaches Association annual all-star banquet at the Eden Host Resort last Sunday.

The striker, who scored 18 goals and racked up 11 assists in leading the Mounts to a Section Two co-championship, was one of two L-L players named to the all-state team.

Along with Hempfield’s Colby Smith, Sensenig earned the all-state bid and both have been nominated for Regional All-American.

In addition to his all-state nod, Sensenig was selected as the Section two Player of the Year and was a First Team section all-star.

“Gabe is a competitor with soccer knowledge, skills and work ethic and passion for the game,” Ephrata Coach Rob Deininger said Monday. “He had just a fantastic year and helped us achieve a lot of our success.”

Sensenig became just the sixth Mount in program history to be named all-state, joining Tim Fulmer, Jake Deininger, Derek Sipe, Dan Heagy and A.J. Kulp.

In addition to Sensenig, two other Ephrata players, Andrey Patrushev and Raine Slovak, earned First Team selections while Ellis Vogt was selected to the Second Team. Finally, senior Ryan Sheaffer was honored as an Academic All-Star.

Cocalico also had some players honored, led by senior Demetri Whitsett, who was named the the Section Two First Team.
