Cocalico area police log: East Cocalico and Denver coverage region

The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:

SCAM ALERT: A citizen received a call from a male claiming to be from the Treasury Department. He stated back taxes were owed and a $500 iTunes card needed to be purchased and the card number provided. The call was received from 760-208-4327. This number has been associated with known scams.

HARASSMENT: A 17-year-old juvenile from Stevens pushed and struck another juvenile at 9:12 a.m. April 21 at 810 South 4th St., Denver Borough. He was charged with summary harassment.

LIQUOR LAW VIOLATION: A male attempted to use a false ID to purchase liquor at 7:41 p.m. April 21 at 2350 North Reading Road, East Cocalico Township. He fled when confronted by an employee. Addison Todd Horning, 19, was identified and charged.

THEFT: Bonnie Haldeman, 59, the 1700 block of Kramer Mill Road, Denver, was charged with retail theft after an incident that occurred at the Weaver’s Markets located at 2610 North Reading Road in East Cocalico Township April 28. A store employee witnessed Haldeman taking numerous grocery items from the store without paying for them at 11:34 a.m. The groceries taken were valued at $78.48. Haldeman was taken into custody and issued a citation for a first offense retail theft. She was released after being processed.

DUI: Lydia Dambrosio, 41, the first block of Corey Drive, Denver, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a traffic violation after an incident that occurred in the 1600 block of North Reading Road in East Cocalico Township at 10:42 p.m. March 25. Dambrosio was stopped for a traffic violation, and during the stop, officers discovered that Dambrosio was impaired. A subsequent blood test indicated that Dambrosio’s blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent at the time of the test.

DUI: Tyler S. Grace, 18, the first block of Valley Road, Wyomissing, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and a traffic summary after an incident that occurred in the 2100 block of North Reading Road in East Cocalico Township at 11:22 p.m. March 27. Grace’s vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and the officer determined that he was impaired and placed him in custody. A small baggie of marijuana was found in Grace’s pocket. A blood test indicated that Grace was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the stop. Grace will be summoned to appear in District Court at a later date.

WARRANT: Debbie J. Page, 48, the first block of Hinden Homes, Denver, was charged with driving under the influence and driving under suspension after an incident that occurred in the 2500 block of North Reading Road in East Cocalico Township at 4:36 p.m. March 31. An officer witnessed Page driving on North Reading Road and was aware that Page’s driving privilege was suspended and her vehicle was stopped. Upon stopping Page, the officer discovered that Page was impaired. A subsequent blood test revealed that Page’s blood alcohol content was 0.207 percent at the time of the test. Charges were filed April 14 and a warrant has been subsequently issued for the arrest of Page for failure to respond to the charges.
