Cocalico police log

The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:

FORGERY: Adam Lee Gerhart, 29, 1 Highland Ave., Ephrata, was charged with forgery and theft by deception after he presented two stolen and forged checks at the Ephrata National Bank, 1 Main St., Denver. The checks were reported stolen from an Ephrata area resident. The total loss from both checks is $155. Gerhart is currently incarcerated in Dauphin County Prison on unrelated charges.

THEFT: A BMX bicycle, valued at $250, was reported to have been stolen from the rear of the Subway sandwich shop at 2350 N. Reading Road in East Cocalico Oct. 29.

VANDALISM: Approximately $950 worth of damage was done to a pick-up truck parked in the 100 block of Birch Street in Denver Borough Oct. 30.

DUI: Darryl L. Kreitz, 47, Audubon Circle, Stevens, was stopped for failing to dim his high beams to traffic at 6:42 p.m. Oct. 17. He displayed signs of impairment and could not perform roadside field sobriety tests as instructed. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken for a blood test. Subsequent testing revealed he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.169 percent. Charges were filed, and a summons sent.
