Ephrata & East Cocalico Police Logs, December 7, 2016

The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:

DUI: Police responded to the Turkey Hill on Denver Road, East Cocalico Township, at 4:01 p.m. Nov. 15 for a road rage incident involving Randolph Edward Shepps, 60. During the confrontation, Shepps threatened he was going to get a gun and made motions he was doing so in his vehicle. Shepps was found on scene by responding officers. He displayed signs of impairment and could not perform roadside sobriety tests as instructed. He was arrested and taken for a chemical test. Subsequent testing revealed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.268 percent. His license was also suspended for prior DUI arrests. Charges were filed and a summons sent by mail.

ASSAULT: Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the first block of South Fourth Street, Denver Borough, at 8:34 p.m. Nov. 22. It was learned that the victim was assaulted earlier by her boyfriend Dakota Ambrose, 20, and resulted in injuries sustained by the victim. Ambrose was taken into custody, charged with simple assault and taken to Lancaster County Central Arraignment.

CRASH: Officers responded to a crash on Colonel Howard Boulevard and the 222 North off ramp, East Cocalico Township, at 2:01 p.m. Nov. 25 when a tractor trailer turned left from the off ramp onto Colonel Howard Boulevard. The vehicle rolled onto the guard rail and lost some of its load (feed). The driver refused medical treatment and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Traffic was affected for approximately 1 ½ hours.

CRASH: An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for driving without headlights in the 300 block of South Muddy Creek Road, East Cocalico Township, at 1:12 a.m. Nov. 26. The vehicle attempted to flee and eventually crashed in the 300 block of Lauschtown Road, Brecknock Township. Brandon Horning, 23, was confined in the vehicle and was extricated by fire personnel. He was taken to Reading Hospital for head and facial injuries.

The Ephrata Police Department reported the following:

CRASH: Police responded to a vehicle accident in the 100 block of East Main Street in Reinholds, West Cocalico Township, at 9:43 p.m. Dec. 3. A vehicle driven by Justin Pajski, 20, Sinking Spring, was westbound and crossed over the oncoming lane on a turn and struck a ditch and a tree. Pajski was not injured. Police found Pajski in possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun. The vehicle was impounded by police pending a search warrant and Pajski was released pending the investigation.
