East Cocalico and Ephrata Police log, November 30, 2016

The Ephrata Police Department reported the following:

CRASH: Ephrata police responded to a vehicle accident on South Ridge Road at Horseshoe Trail Road in West Cocalico Township at 2:53 p.m. Nov. 23. Amy Major, 22, Reinholds, turned left from Horseshoe Trail Road and struck a vehicle going south on South Ridge Road. No one was injured in the accident and both vehicles were towed from the scene. One lane of the road was closed for about 45 minutes.

The Ephrata Police Department provides coverage for Adamstown borough and West Cocalico Township.

 

The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:

DUI: Nathan Paul Ford, 37, was driving a motor scooter and observed driving erratically in the 1300 block of North Reading Road, East Cocalico Township, at 10:19 p.m. Oct. 28. He was seen staggering into a convenience store and officers stopped him in the parking lot. He displayed signs of impairment and could not perform roadside sobriety testing as instructed. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken for a blood test. Subsequent testing revealed he was under the influence of a combination of central nervous system depressants and central nervous system stimulants. His license was also found to be suspended and without motorcycle endorsement. Charges were filed Nov. 18 and a summons sent by mail.

DUI: Samuel Perez Mata, 28, was stopped for driving without having his headlights illuminated at night at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 19. He displayed signs of impairment and could not perform roadside sobriety testing as instructed. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He refused a chemical test. Charges were filed Nov. 21 and a summons sent by mail.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS: An officer observed a 32-year-old female yelling at customers across the parking lot and dancing on the poles in front of a business in the 1400 block of North Reading Road, East Cocalico Township, at 10:43 p.m. Nov. 21. She displayed signs of intoxication. She was taken into custody, taken to her address and advised she will be cited for public drunkenness.
