Free lecture on Amishland Heirloom Seeds Jan. 21

The public is invited to learn better techniques to grow vegetables and fruits during a free lecture by Lisa Von Saunder of Amishland Heirloom Seeds Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Reamstown Community Center.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania Master Gardener program, Von Saunder specializes in rare varieties of exotic and foreign organically raised seeds, some from varieties that are 200 years old. The seeds, mostly vegetables, have been cultivated for generations by Pennsylvania growers, including the Amish and Mennonites. In addition to local heirlooms, Von Saunder offers rare colored, unusual, landrace, exotic and foreign seeds from around the world.
