It’ll be a Howl-a-Day at DVGRR

Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue (DVGRR) will hold its annual “Howl-A-Day” Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Golden Gateway location at 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds.

The bazaar will feature a “No Flea” market sale of Christmas and holiday items, bake sale, and cookie contest. Additionally, the DVGRR retail store, Pap’s Place, will be open for shopping. Raffles and silent auctions will also be held.

“2014 has been a particularly difficult year for us, so every fundraiser we have is really important,” said Robin Adams, DVGRR executive director and co-founder.

She noted the harsh winter of 2013/2014 took a toll on the DVGRR budget, and costs have risen with the out reach out and assistance to rescue groups in Puerto Rico by bringing some of their dogs into our program. The dogs almost always require extensive veterinary care, and although most is provided at the on-site hospital, the cost of that care far exceeds the adoption fee.

Adams hope the weather cooperates.

“Ironically, inclement weather forced us to cancel this event last year, so we’re hoping for better weather and a great turn out,” she said.

The event is being held in conjunction with DVGRR’s monthly Meet and Greet the Goldens. Dogs available for adoption will be available for interaction with prospective adopters.
