Police log: Cocalico

The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:

DUI: Police stopped Gisela Pacheco, 40, Ephrata, for erratic driving on Route 222 North in East Cocalico Township at 9:57 p.m. July 5. Pacheco displayed signs of intoxication and failed field coordination tests. Testing determined Pacheco’s blood alcohol concentration to be 0.082 percent. At the time of the traffic stop, Pacheo was transporting her two chidden, ages 1 and 4, unsecured in their child safety seats. Pacheco will be sent a summons to appear in front of District Judge Nancy Hamill.

DUI: Mark Lee McEldorney, 45, Stevens, was stopped for turning left from Muddy Creek Church Road onto North Reading Road in violation of posted signs at 4:05 p.m. July 1. His Pennsylvania inspection was also expired. He displayed signs of impairment and did not perform sobriety tests as instructed. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken for a blood test. McEldorney has two prior DUI arrests. Charges were filed and a summons sent by mail.

CHARGES FILED: Donna Jean Beierschmitt, 48, Blue Ball, was stopped for turning left from Muddy Creek Church Road onto North Reading Road in volition of posted signs at 4:05 p.m. July 1. She displayed signs of impairment and did not perform roadside sobriety tests as instructed. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken for a blood test. Subsequent testing of her blood revealed she had a BAC of 1.35 percent. Beierschmitt’s two children were the vehicle at the time of this incident. Charges were filed and a summons sent by mail.
