Seven reach for the crown

The nominees have been announced for this year’s Homecoming Court at Cocalico High School. Students are casting their votes in preparation for the announcement of the winner at half-time of the game on Oct. 14.

Vying for this year’s Homecoming Queen title are Megan Caiazzo, Leah Wallace, Liza Morgan, Brooke Rodgers, Sarah Mohler, Haley Irvine and Tyler Hoppman.

Megan Caiazzo

Caiazzo is the daughter of Tim and Lisa Caiazzo. During her high school years, she has been a member of student government, National Honor Society and Aevidum. Caiazzo has played cross-country, soccer and basketball and is the senior class treasurer.

She plans to attend Penn State University and study veterinary and biomedical science.

Caiazzo will be escorted by Nicholas Voutsinos, son of Angelo and Wendy Voutsinos.

Leah Wallace

Wallace, the daughter of Mike and Carol Wallace, has been secretary of the National Honor Society, president of Leo Club and captain of the Cross Country, swimming and track teams. She has also been involved in choir, wind ensemble, choralaires and symphonic band.

Wallace will be attending Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Va., to study nursing.

She will be escorted by Alex Kupp, son of Davis and Anita Kupp.

Liza Morgan

Morgan is the daughter of Laurie Morgan and Mitchel Derr. During her study at Cocalico, she has played field hockey, been a member of the Field Hockey Club and has been involved in the television production program.

Morgan plans to attend college and study kinesiology or fashion merchandising.

Her escort will be Christian Graybill, son of Doug and Kristine Graybill.

Brooke Rodgers

The daughter of David and Nicole Rodgers, Rodgers participated in Leo Club in 10th and 11th grades.

Rodgers plans to study occupational therapy in college.

She will be escorted by Brian Mulligan, son of Daniel and Melissa Mulligan.

Sarah Mohler

Mohler, the daughter of Glenn and Anne Mohler, has participated in student government, Amnesty International, cross country and track. She is the senior class secretary and has been a middle school mentor.

She plans to pursue an English degree from Eastern University.

Mohler’s escort will be Spencer Henry, son of Michael Henry and Patti Shuey.

Haley Irvine

Irvine is the daughter of Chris and Toby Irvine. She is the vice president of the senior class. During her high school years she has also been a member of student government and National Honor Society, editor of the yearbook and captain of the field hockey team.

Irvine plans to attend college and go into the medical field.

Her escort will be Max DiMarco, son of Louie and Patricia DiMarco.

Tyler Hoppman

The daughter of Kris Hoppman, Hoppman has been a member of the Leo Club and National Honor Society. In her Cocalico schooling, she has been involved in swimming, soccer, club soccer and dual enrollment.

She plans to study biology in college.

Hoppman will be escorted by Ryen Forry, son of Michael and Sharon Forry.
