63rd Annual Day in the Park to be held June 4

The Ephrata Community Health Foundation will hold its 63rd annual Day in the Park from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 4 in Grater Memorial Park in Ephrata. The event benefits the Cancer Patient Help Fund at the WellSpan Ephrata Cancer Center.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Health fair, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will offer health screenings, games and information and materials about everything from stroke signs to advanced cardiac care. Kids can bring their teddy bears to a “clinic.”
  • Quilt raffle is for a queen-size handmade quilt with a country flower pattern. Tickets, on sale the day of the event, are $1, or six for $5. Drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m.
  • Quacker raffle will feature more than 100 prizes from community businesses. Prices are $5 per ticket, $12 for three tickets or $100 for 30 tickets. Drawing will be held at 2 p.m.
  • Car cruise, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is open to antique, street rod and classic cars and trucks. Cars will be judged in different categories. Admission fee is $10 and includes a free hot dog and soda.
  • Arts and crafts fair, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., features handmade crafts including jewelry, pottery and baskets.
  • Community Business Expo, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature displays from local businesses and organizations.
  • Flower sale and book sale will both be held from 8 a.m. until items are sold out. The flower sale includes hanging baskets, bedding plants and containers, from $3 to $25. The book sale includes hardbacks, paperbacks, DVDs, CDs and VCR tapes in a variety of prices.
  • Food will feature a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. in the Pavilion, with tickets costing $7 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring foods ranging in price from 50 cents to $3.50.
  • Entertainment, on the park stage, features: 9 a.m., Lerman Richards; 9:30 a.m., PonyTails Dance and Fitness Studio; 10 a.m., ACE Dance Academy; 10:30 a.m., Hooley School of Irish Dance; 11 a.m., Steven Courtney; 12:35 p.m. Nook Taekwondo Club; 1 p.m., Ephrata Performing Arts Center; 1:30 p.m., Steven Courtney; 2 p.m. Cavod Academy of the Arts; and 2:30 p.m., Lerman Richards.
