Armed Forces Day swing dance

By on April 29, 2015

On Saturday, May 16, the American Legion Post 429 in Ephrata will be hosting a Swing Dance from 8 to 11 p.m. in honor of Armed Forces Day. The Legion is located at 300 Cocalico St., next to the Tom Grater (Ephrata Community) Park.

Tickets are $30 per person and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Wounded Warriors. Swing dance lessons will be provided by Gregg Stief and Amber Corey from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. for an additional $5 per person. Reminiscent of the USO Canteen, a breakfast buffet is included and will be served at 10 p.m.

The Big Big Jazz Band will be providing the entertainment and features vocalist Mary Ann Garrett from Lititz. Come hear that blend of brass, reeds, and rhythm combined with fine vocals, all reminiscent of the exciting sounds of the Glenn Miller, Count Basie, or Dorsey Brothers’ Bands.

Purchase tickets by calling 733-2576, or contacting Becky Rowe, event coordinator, at 738-2796 or via e-mail at tworld@ptd.net. Table reservations can be made for parties of six or more.
