Farm Country Shindig will present the Kevin Prater Band on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., at the Fivepointville Fire Hall, located at 1087 Dry Tavern Road in Denver.

The Kevin Prater Band is a unique band from the hills of Appalachia creating the pure Kentucky sound based on strong vocal harmonies. Built around high trios, the Kevin Prater Band sound comes from a wide range of influences and musical heroes. The original Seldom Scene, The Country Gentlemen, Osborne Brothers, Doyle Lawson and the Stanley Brothers are among the different styles of music they have all admired and studied together throughout the years.

Also steeped in the tradition of Gospel music, they pride themselves on the acapella hymns and great gospel songs that people enjoy. Kevin Prater started his musical journey at the age of four. With the band, he plays guitar, mandolin and does vocals. Danny Stiltner plays bass, Tom Timberlake does guitar and vocals while Tyler Robertson, the youngest member of the band, plays banjo, guitar, mandolin and also does vocals.

Appearing with The Kevin Prater Band is Chester Johnson and The Foggy Mountain Grass. The cost is $15 per person; food will be available. For more information, call 610-573-0797.
