By on January 14, 2015

The Eicher Arts Center kicks off its 2015 season this Saturday, Jan. 17, with the initial performance of its Java Jam Music Series. The series showcases exceptional singer/songwriters from the region, performing original music in an intimate and beautiful setting. Your ticket price of $8 ($6 for Eicher members) will include a coffee and tea bar, compliments of Javateas Gourmet Coffee Café. Other beverages, as well as a sweet table, will be sponsored by Intermezzo by Stephanie.

The Jan. 17 event features the talents of Megan Donley, lead singer and creative force behind the band The Wild Hymns. Donley will be performing music from The Wild Hymns self-titled, debut CD; as well as, other original songs and covers. Taking equal influence from rock, blues, jazz, and folk sources; her music centers on themes of personal and universal love, nature, mysticism, and the exploration of emotion and what it means to be human. Perhaps the most striking element of her performance is her voice; which has been described as soulful, soothing, timeless, and hauntingly beautiful. Joining Megan for the evening will be lead guitarist and husband, Jeff Hewitt and fellow vocalist and songwriter, Krystle Seitz.

The historic Eicher Arts Center is located at 409 Cocalico Street, in Ephrata’s Tom Grater Park. The show will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. Those over 21 can BYOB.
