The Holt Twins and Charmaine will provide the musical entertainment during a special afternoon of Americana at the Eicher Arts Center in Ephrata on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.

Pennsylvania sisters Emily and Linda Holt, with Linda’s daughter Charmaine, will play and sing songs that include traditional folk songs brought to America by immigrants from Britain; “Blowin’ in the Wind,” written by Bob Dylan in 1962 with melody adapted from an African-American spiritual, and such Native American songs as “The Earth’s Our Mother.”

The three singers will play a variety of instruments that will include guitars, hammer dulcimer, mandolin, banjo and flute.

The interaction of people, their cultures and nature in America is a theme of the three-part Nov. 16 program starting at 1 p.m. at the Eicher House, 409 Cocalico St. in Ephrata Borough’s Grater Community Park.

Admission is free. Refreshments with a Native American theme will be provided. Donations to the non-profit Eicher Arts Center, Inc. will be accepted.

Other features of the day include a presentation on the restoration of Save Speedwell; a discussion of the significance of the wolf in Native American culture; a chance to view Eicher Art Center’s collection of artifacts and other objects related to Woodland Native Americans. The musical act will conclude the day’s festivities.
