Vocal Harmonix, the local 47-voice chapter of Sweet Adelines International, will be offering a free public concert Monday evening at 8 p.m. at Lititz United Methodist Church. Shown are some of the ensemble’s newest members (left to right) Michele Turner, Julie Pedelini, Jessica Dunbar, Valerie Ruhl, and Liz Himmelberger.  The five hail from Manheim, Lititz, and Ephrata.

Vocal Harmonix is an auditioned group of women ages 19 through 90 that practices weekly at Lititz United Methodist Church. The chorus, the Lancaster chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is dedicated to the proliferation of four-part barbershop and acappella harmonies.

Under the direction of Lori Jo Whitehaus, the group performs acappella tunes old and new with a creative blend of choreography and humor, infused with a little history.

Each year, the Sweet Adeline choruses in the region gather for a convention and singing contest. As a send off for the competition, Vocal Harmonix willl be offering a free concert for friends, family, and community.

The event will take place at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 2, at the Lititz United Methodist Church social hall, on the lower level of 201 E. Market St., Lititz. Refreshments will be served.

The ensemble is always seeking new members. Prospects and visitors are welcome at every rehearsal. To learn more, visit vocalharmonix.org.
