Free Weaver Believer concert, picnic

Weaver Believer will headline an afternoon concert and free picnic in Overlook Park on Sept. 24.


Weaver Believer will be the headliners at a free community concert and picnic, on Sunday, Sept., 24, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Overlook Park in the Destination Playground Pavilion, 2040 Lititz Pike, Lancaster.

There will be live music throughout the day, closed out by the Weaver Believer bluegrass gospel band at 5:30 p.m. This family of musicians have won several awards and put on an energetic and engaging show. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to support this band.

Hamburgers, hotdogs, a salad bar, and side dishes will be available for free. Yard games and competitions for all ages will take place throughout the afternoon, including horseshoes, quoits, wiffle ball, corn hole, and more.

Donations will be accepted throughout the afternoon for hurricane and disaster relief through UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief), which is already at work providing aid in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. This event is sponsored by Blessings of Hope Food Ministry (; and the Pikes Mission ConneXion, a cooperative ministry of eight local United Methodist Churches.
