Garden Spot Village will host winter paint parties

By on December 28, 2016

For the new year, Garden Spot Village and Zolé invite the public to enjoy creativity, camaraderie, and a warm Starbucks beverage at a series of paint parties scheduled for this winter on the Garden Spot Village campus.

The class learns step by step, using fast-drying acrylic paints, which make it easy to correct mistakes. Each participant works on the same image. At the end of the party, each participant goes home with a painting that he or she has created.

In February, Garden Spot Village will also hold an intergenerational paint party. These parties are open to people of any age as a way for kids and adults to share in the fun of creating a work of art of their very own.

On Jan. 27, participants will paint two cardinals perched on branches. On Feb. 4, participants of all ages will paint a night scene of cats swinging from a tree. On Feb. 17, participants will paint two flamingoes nuzzling to form a heart. On March 24, participants will paint an umbrella in the rain.

The alcohol-free paint parties begin at 6:30 p.m. on Fridays and 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays, and run about two hours.

The paint nights are open to the public, but class size is limited. Cost is $35, which includes all art supplies, instruction and a Starbucks specialty drink from the Refresh coffee bar at Garden Spot Village. Payment, payable to Garden Spot Village, is due on arrival.

Garden Spot Village is located at 433 S. Kinzer Ave. in New Holland. To reserve a space at a paint party, call 355-6000.
