‘Grease’ at Dutch Apple opens May 3

By on April 25, 2018

“Grease” is the word at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. The rollicking show with memorable music will be playing May 3 through June 17. Travel back to the 1950s with Rydell High’s senior class of duck-tailed, hot-rodding Burger Palace Boys and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking Pink Ladies in bobby socks and pedal pushers.

This irresistible love story centers on the goody-two-shoes Sandy Dumbrowski and greaser Danny Zuko whose summer romance gets a little complicated when Sandy unexpectedly ends up at Danny’s high school for her senior year. Their romance is put to the test when Danny tries to keep his too-cool-for-love attitude in front of his friends and when Sandy learns a thing or two about being a tough chick from the Pink Ladies.

Songs from the show include “Summer Nights,” “We Go Together,” “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee,” “Greased Lightnin’,” “Born to Hand Jive,” and more.

The pivotal rolls of Danny and Sandy will be performed by Dutch Apple newcomers Nick McDonough and Karis Gallant. Directing and choreographing “Grease” is Amy Marie McCleary, who is happy to return to Rydell High having staged Broadway Palm’s production of “Grease” in 2011.
