Halloween Happenings

Lititz Church of the Brethren and TreeHouse Playground are hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event Oct. 24. Check your church’s event calendar to find out when yours is taking place. Or… organize one for next year.

Here’s a list of just some of the many Halloween attractions and events happening locally through mid-November.

Trunk-or-Treat — Tree House of Lititz playground will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz. To learn more, call 717-626-2131.

Jack Frost Parade — The Jack Frost Parade (a costume parade for children) will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The parade begins at 7 p.m. in front of the VFW on South State Street, Ephrata.

Shock the Block — For all candy-lovers, fall enthusiasts, costume-creators, and scare-seekers, Shock the Block at Rock Lititz is an evening of Halloween fun for all ages, Thursday, Oct. 25, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Pod 2 at Rock Lititz, 201 Rock Lititz Boulevard.

Union Mill Acres — Pick your own pumpkin and enjoy fall festivities at Union Mill Acres, 7557 Elizabethtown Road, E-town. Visit unionmillacres.com.

Oregon Dairy — “All Creatures Great and Small” corn maze and fall fun. Open every weekend through Oct. 26. Visit oregondairy.com.

Catacombs Feast — Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy is hosting fall fests in their historic (and haunted!) catacombs each weekend this fall. Visit bubesbrewery.com to learn more.

Halloween Daze & Spooky Knights — Takes place Oct. 27-28 at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Join the good shirefolk of Mount Hope for a grand All Hallows Eve celebration, complete with tricks and treats for children of all ages.

Halloween Party — Loxley’s Restaurant, Centerville, is having a haunted Halloween party on Oct. 27, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Lions Halloween Parade — The Lititz Lions Club Halloween parade will be held this year on Oct. 29, starting at 7 p.m. The parade will run from Locust to Broad Street and will finish at the square. Entrants should register online at lititzlions.org/halloween-parade; registration can be completed the night of the parade from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Oak and Main Streets (Garman Builders parking lot). Parade watchers are encouraged to bring flashlights to help light the night. Pumpkin pie, hot dogs, and beverages will be served by the Lititz Lions Club that evening.

Trick-or-Treat — County-wide trick-or-treat in Lancaster County is Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sleepy Hollow Hayride — Located in Newtown; open weekends through late October. Visit sleepyhollowhayride.com.

Barnyard Kingdom — Great fall fun for kids of all ages at 211 S. Donerville Road, Lancaster. Visit countrybarnmarket.com.

Ghost Tour (Lancaster) — Take a 90-minute ghost tour in downtown Lancaster. Times/dates vary. Visit ghosttour.com/lancaster.

Jason’s Woods — A scary Lancaster county treasure south of Millersville, featuring a haunted hayride and much, much more. Events for kids during the days on the weekend. Visit jasonswoods.com.

Corn Cob Acres — Lots of fun for the kids on weekends in Mountville, through the end of October. Visit corncobacres.com.

Field of Screams — Four scary attractions, food, entertainment and more. Weekends through mid-November. Visit fieldofscreams.com.

Boston Haunted Manor — Formerly FrightFest Lancaster, located at 14 Acorn Blvd., Lancaster. Find them on Facebook.

Curious what’s going on at your favorite watering hole for Halloween? Visit their website or give them a call.
