The South Asian Association of Lancaster will host a celebration of Holi on Sunday April 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the East Lampeter Township Community Park, 2330 Hobson Road, Lancaster.

Known widely as the “Festival of Color” by marking the celebration of good versus evil, as well as religious and agricultural festival of fertility and harvest, Holi is often associated with the colored powders (known as gulal) that end up coating its participants after they’ve thrown them at each other.

“Although a Hindu festival, our annual Holi celebration pulls together the entire community for fun and festivities,” said Hans Raj, SAAL founding organizer.

Tickets are $15, and includes a t-shirt for the first 100 people. Snacks will also be available. Participants are encouraged to wear white t-shirts and to bring an extra change of clothes.
