Forty-five Hooley School of Irish Dance students will complete in the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship in Philadelphia during Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 27-29.

The Akron dance school features several competitors from Lititz. The competition, called The Oireactas (Irish for a cultural gathering or assembly), will bring more than 2,000 dancers to the City of Brotherly Love. Hooley is taking 18 dancers to the event, which is an official qualifier for the 2016 North American National Championships in Orlando, and the 2016 World Irish Dance Championship in Glasgow, Scotland.

Hooley School dancers perform locally in parades, talent shows, performances, benefits, commercials, and Irish-themed celebrations throughout the year and share their talents at their own showcase each March. Students have danced with notable musicians in the region like The Celtic Martins, Charlie Zahm and Tad Marks, and have been featured in local media, including the Lititz Record Express. The mission of school is to cultivate character and excellence through a supportive community and learning environment.
