Josh Christina Band at Eicher Arts

By on November 9, 2016

The Josh Christina Band will perform Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Eicher Arts Center, 409 Cocalico St., in Ephrata Borough’s Grater Park.

Baltimore-based Josh Christina has been inspired by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and other rockabilly performers of the 1950s.

One reviewer, calling Josh a “ridiculously good piano player,” described him as a “mixture of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elton John.” Another reviewer said “Christina has a nostalgic appeal with a dynamic freshness.”

Josh has a family heritage in music. His father’s a drummer, his mother a singer, and his grandmother had been a big-band singer in the 1940s and ‘50s.

He began performing as a child, and since his high school graduation in 2013 he has performed in England and Ireland, as well as regionally, and released two Nashville-produced CDs. At Eicher, he and his band will perform me of the songs made famous by his idols and some original songs from his CDs.

Admission to the Nov. 13 event is free. Refreshments will be provided. Donations to the non-profit Eicher Arts Center, Inc. will be accepted. To learn more, visit facebook.com/EicherArtsCenter.
