The eighth annual Lititz Kid-Lit Festival brings celebrated authors and illustrators to our community to visit with young readers, parents, teachers, and librarians.

This year’s festival, sponsored by Aaron’s Books, is set for Saturday, Nov. 12, at Linden Hall. The goal of the festival is to introduce young readers, from pre-K through teens, to the favorite authors and new ones who will inspire a love of reading.

This year’s featured authors are Amy Ignatow and Matthew Cody. Other authors and illustrators at this year’s festival include: Andy Myer, Eric Wight, Isaiah Campbell, Mark Tatulli, Dianne Salerni, Maggie Thrash, Lisa and Robert Papp, Dennis Denenberg, and Lorraine Roscoe.

Maggie Thrash and Isaiah Campbell are two of 13 children’s authors and illustrators who will visit Lititz on Saturday for the Kid-Lit Festival.

In addition to a presentation by each featured author, the day will be full of writing and illustration workshops led by the authors, including “Improv Story Writing for Kids,” “Writing Emotion Workshop,” and an unscripted Illustrators Duel. One of the favorite characters in modern children’s picture books, Pete the Cat, will also appear throughout the day to read to the youngest book lovers.

Tickets range from $5 for individual children to $20 for a family of four. Tickets can be purchased online at LititzKidLitFest.com or at Aaron’s Books, 35 E. Main St. Further details are available at LititzKidLitFest.com, although workshops and times are subject to change.
