Ladies Night at Bomberger’s

If you are looking for a way to jump start your Christmas shopping this season, you don’t have to wait until Black Friday. The Record Express found the most happening shopping night in Lititz hosted by a local store that has been serving the community for centuries.

Bomberger’s Ladies Night

Ladies leave your men at home, grab your purse and your girlfriends and head out to support local businesses this week at Bomberger’s Ladies Night.

The local hardware store, located at 555 Furnace Hills Pike (Route 501) is hosting its fourth annual ladies night on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. With a Hollywood theme, it will literally be laying out the red carpet, inviting you to join more than 40 local vendors for a night out.

Local vendors will offer makeup, jewelry, kitchenware, and clothing as well as other local shops with known names such as Avon, Mary Kay, Premier Jewelry, Matthew 25, Days Gone by Creations, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Bernard’s at Brighton, Thirty-One and Tupperware, to name a few.

The committee for the event came up with simple crafts for “do it yourself” Christmas ideas. Members put together a shopping list of the items you’ll need for the DIY project, and where to find them in the store. The 20 percent-off bag sale will continue during this event. This means whatever you can fit in the bag provided to you is 20 percent off.

Take a chance and spin the prize wheel by donation for Children’s Miracle Network. Ace Hardware is actively fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network and many of their employees are involved in the charity.

“It’s important not just to Ace Hardware but to us and our employees as well,” said Emily Weaver, coordinator for the event.

While you’re shopping, enjoy a few specialty drinks made up by Bomberger’s Elm Tree Café, a chocolate fountain donated by Wilbur Chocolate and other hors d’oeuvres throughout the store.

If you are one of the first 200 ladies to arrive, you will get a surprise gift bag. The surprise gifts will also include coupons to various vendors present that night. You want to get there early, as Weaver expects about 500 to 700 women throughout the night, which is what they’ve had other years.

Those waiting in the queue to get into the store will be serenaded, appropriately, by women — from Lititz’s all-female acappella ensemble, Red Rose City Chorus.

Pop’s Coffee Shoppe owner Fiona Heart recalls people lined up last year, despite the cold weather. When she went with a group of about eight ladies, they had to park in the far parking lot and Bomberger’s had golf carts transporting them to the door.

Heart is looking forward to returning this year with her daughter Patricia. Last year they went with a group of friends, and had a really good time. Heart loves her souvenir from the Ladies Night photo booth, a picture of her with her daughter. The photo booth will be there again this year along with props. Last year Heart spun the prize wheel and won the top prize, a large, hurricane lamp.

“I am very excited to go again this year,” she said.
