Missing Persons tour coming to Ephrata

By on November 5, 2014

GINA for Missing Persons Foundation will be doing a show at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Beam’s in Ephrata.

The foundation was started by Jannel Rap in 2001 after the disappearance of her sister, Gina Bos, for whom the foundation was named on Oct 17, 2000. Jannel was desperate. As a singer/songwriter, she did the only thing she knew how to do… bring the public’s attention to all missing persons during her performances. She has done this beautifully. Due to her efforts and the efforts of the singer/ songwriters in the area, hundreds of missing persons have been found.

How does this work?

Before, during, and after the performances, the artists display posters of the missing persons who are being sought. Media coverage, of the event helps get the faces “on the air.” Whether it is radio interviews, TV news coverage or just word of mouth, every bit helps. The organization likes to think of itself as a traveling billboard that helps everyone, especially those people waiting to be found.

The artists themselves “adopt” a particular person.

In addition to local performances, the artists go on an annual tour called the Squeaky Wheel tour (411gina.org/swt/squeakywheeltour.htm).

Now in its ninth year, the tour travels through several states, including Pennsylvania.
