Party in downtown Lititz!

Downtown Lititz will be bursting with energy for 2nd Friday, Aug. 14. Each month downtown merchants offer family-friendly activities and entertainment, free and open to the public, in stores and venues throughout the shopping area. The rain or shine event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.

Highlights include, but are not limited to:

The “Lititz on Broad” shops will feature samples of wine and other items. Savory Gourmet, E. I. Home, a. heather & co., Affinity Antiques, Lititz Framing & Fine Arts, and Calkins’ Vine and The Branches are among the participating businesses.

The art of Jason Goodman will be featured at Lititz Framing & Fine Arts.

A Tea Affair and Min D’s Boutique will be hosting Strange Eden, a local band, in front of their shops on Sturgis Lane.

Beers + Hoffman Architects (above Appalachian Brewing Company) will be having another building contest. Test your artistic prowess with Legos, Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys, and tour their new office. Rules for the contest are posted at beersltd.com.

Non-profits seeking to set up stands at future 2nd Fridays are asked to call Venture Lititz at 626-6332 at least two weeks ahead of time to begin the process.

“Lovin’ Lititz Every 2nd” Friday is a monthly event of the Lititz Downtown Merchants, under Venture Lititz. For additional information, including a full list of participating locations and events, call 626-6332 or visit lititzpa.com.

After checking out the downtown specials, swing on over to Lititz Springs Park and enjoy a concert by the Lititz Community Band in the Oehme Gazebo at 7 p.m. The 1971 classic film “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” shows at 8:30 p.m. at the park bandshell. There is no rain date for either the concert or movie.
