Former honor student jailed for suspected heroin dealing

prisonEphrata Police reported that Darion Alston, 20, of Ephrata, was arrested  for suspected drug dealing Friday after a traffic stop  at 2 p.m. on the 800 block of East Main Street.

Alston, who made the Ephrata High School honor roll during his senior year in 2012, was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Police reported that during the stop officers found  Alston had    bulk heroin and approximately 200 unused heroin bags, which police said indicates the heroin would be packaged for sale.

The estimated street value of the heroin is at least $1,000, police said. Alston Alston was taken to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $30,000 bail set by District Justice Tony S. Russell.
