Guy B. Zell, 84, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 in Melbourne, Fla. at the home of his daughter following a four-month bout with cancer.

Born in Akron, he was the son of the late Melvin and Angela Zell.

He loved his town and served as mayor for 24 years.

Guy loved the Lord Jesus and was involved in the early years of the Lititz and Ephrata Grace Brethren Churches. His last words before his death were “Heaven is coming. Happy happy happy.”

He is survived by his daughter: Kathy Rutt, married to Wayne; his granddaughter: Amy Buckman, married to Bryan; his granddaughter: Rebecca Rutt-Lund, married to Jens; his five great grandchildren: Bella, Grady, Lilly, Ines and Alba; two sisters: Martha Zimmerman and Helen Keith and brother, Kenneth. He was preceded in death by his loving wife: June, in 1993; his brother: Newton and sisters: Mary and June.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Lititz Grace Church, 501 W. Lincoln Avenue, Lititz, 17543 on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. with visiting hours starting at 6 p.m. There will be a time of sharing stories and thoughts on the life of Guy.
