The fourth annual Lititz Pretzel Fest is set for May 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Lititz. Sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Lititz Area, the event is unique in that it appeals to adults and to children, and it includes 13 tastings and a dozen games that offer a chance to win some valuable prizes. Look for more information about Pretzel Fest games in next week’s Record Express.

The star of Pretzel Fest is, of course, the pretzel. Ticket purchasers will be able to travel to 13 tasting stations around the downtown area and sample delicacies that have one thing in common &tstr; pretzels are an ingredient.

Pretzel Fest ticket holders will sample 13 different pretzel-themed creations on May 2. Tickets to Pretzel Fest can be purchased in the train station in Lititz Springs Park, or online at lititzpretzelfest.com. (Photo by Preston Whitcraft)

Here’s what each tasting site is offering this year:

Clemintines, 25 E. Main St., will be serving salty or cinnamon soft pretzel bites from Heart of Lancaster.

Dosie Dough, 45 S. Broad St., will feature chocolate caramel pretzel brownies.

Isabella’s, 110 E. Main St., will be scooping up their peanut butter pretzel ice cream.

Sturgis Haus, 43 E. Main St., will offer pretzel sticks with beer mustard dip.

JoBoy’s Brew Pub, 27-31 E. Main St. will give samples of jalapeno beer and bacon cheese dip with pretzels.

ABC Brewing, 55 N. Water St., is serving lamb sausage stuffed jalapeno peppers with pretzel coating.

Greco’s, 49 N. Broad St., will be featuring Pretzel Therapy ice cream.

Cherry Acres, at 23 E. Main St., will feature a creation from one of the chefs from Scooter’s.

General Sutter Inn, 14 E. Main St., will be handing out rosemary and parmesan soft pretzel bites.

Tomato Pie Café, 23 N. Broad St., will be serving pretzel twist with coconut dipped in chocolate, made by Bakery at the Cupboard.

Lititz Watch & Jewelry, 119 N. Broad St., will be offering chocolate pecan pretzels created by a chef from Lancashire Terrace.

Min D’s Boutique, 4 Sturgis Lane, will be serving Auntie Anne’s cinnamon sugar nuggets with a choice of dips.

E.I. Home, 201 N. Broad St, will feature Curt Williams’ Buckey pretzel cookies.

With tickets priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, it’s an affordable day of food and fun for a good cause. Proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Eliminate Project that is wiping out neonatal tetanus worldwide and to Court Appointed Special Advocates of Lancaster that assists foster children.

Come early to the train station to buy your tickets; they are limited. Tickets can also be purchased online at lititzpretzelfest.com.
