Scarff Leads Lancaster Catholic Late

Despite sitting out most of the first half due to foul trouble, Caroline Scarff, who played grade school basketball in Ephrata at OMPH, led Lancaster Catholic girls over Lampeter-Strasburg 61-49 in the first round of District 3-AAA girls’ basketball playoffs Wednesday.

Scarff, a junior, scored 8 baskets and led the team with 21 points including crucial baskets C1CarolineScarffF19late in the game after the Crusaders started the fourth quarter knotted at 38-38. She scored 17 of the team’s 23 fourth-quarter points.

The Crusaders (21-3), a 5th seed plays 4th seeded Greencastle-Atrium (21-3) at East Pennsboro High School tomorrow in the quarter finals round – Saturday February 21st at 1 P.M.

The game is a rematch of last year’s playoff when Lancaster Catholic defeated Greencastle-Antrim 59-52 in the district quarterfinals.ce c caroline scarff.f18
