Aaron I. Martin, 94, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, in Shippensburg.

He was born in Earl Township to the late John Jacob and Lydia Ann (Weaver) Martin and was the husband of the late Lizzie (Zimmerman) Martin.

Aaron was a member of the Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

He is survived by six sons: John Z., husband of Alta (Nolt) Martin of Shippensburg; Aaron I., husband of Miriam (Oberholtzer) Martin of Walnut Bottom; Weaver Z., husband of Mary (Hoover) Martin of Newville; Ammon Z., husband of Mary Anna (Sauder) Martin of Thorp, Wisc.; Allen Z., husband of Arlene (Hoover) Martin of Shippensburg; and Mahlon Z., husband of Arlene (Nolt) Martin of Ephrata; four daughters: Anna, wife of Isaac S. Nolt of New Holland; Lydia, wife of Esra Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; Ruth, wife of Weaver G. Burkholder of Walnut Bottom; and Lucy, wife of Raymond Newswanger of Shippensburg; 88 grandchildren; 163 great-grandchildren; 66 step-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son: Edwin, husband of Leah (Zimmerman) Martin; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers and four sisters.

Services were held Jan. 1 at the late residence and Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
