Ada Margaret Blank, 83, Ephrata, secretary for Chester County, enjoyed traveling to OCNJ

Ada Margaret (Best) Blank, 83, of Ephrata, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

Born in Little Britain, the daughter of the late Harry M. and Clara (Alexander) Best, Ada lived most of her life in the West Chester area but lived the past 15 years in Lancaster County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Blank in 1985.

Ada worked as a receptionist for the treasurer of Chester County and later retired from the adult probation department of Chester County. She enjoyed taking trips to Ocean City, NJ, with her friends.

Ada is survived by her son: Robert, husband of Barbara, of Fivepointville; her grandchildren: Eric and Shawna Pride; her sister: Nancy Book; her friends: Lenore Guthrie, Betty Gilcrist, and Joan McGeehan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ada was preceded in death by three brothers: Harry “Pete,” James “Jim,” and John; and two sisters: Eva and Mary “Liz.”

Ada’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the dedicated staff of The Groves and Hospice and Community Care of Mount Joy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1040 Chestnut Tree Road, Honey Brook.
