Allan L. ‘Red’ Beck, 71, Denver, Pepperidge Farm retiree, outdoorsman, enjoyed helping others

Allan L. “Red” Beck, 71, of Denver, passed away on Jan. 9, 2018 peacefully at home under hospice care.
He was born in Ephrata on Sept. 8, 1946 and was the son of Marion P. Ebelhar. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan J. (Garman) Beck in October 2003.
Allan worked for Pepperidge Farm Inc. of Denver, retiring in September 2008. He enjoyed history, reading, the outdoors, camping, and helping people.
He is survived by four children: Kenneth E., husband of Donna, Iron Station, N.C.; Douglas L., husband of Annette, Fleetwood; Pamela S., wife of Richard Brooks, Christiana; and Robert A., husband of Patricia, Ephrata. There are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother: Jeffrey Beck, Ephrata; and a sister: Kathi, of Akron.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Lung Association or Hospice Care of Lancaster County.
