Ammon E. Reiff, 85, Ephrata, dairy farmer, father of 10, Millway Mennonite member

Ammon E. Reiff, 85, of Ephrata, formerly of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at his residence from congestive heart failure.

He was born in Leola to the late Eli and Anna (Eberly) Reiff, and was the husband of the late Catherine (Martin) Reiff, who passed away in 1997. He was married to Nora W. (Zimmerman) Reiff with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Ammon was a member of the Millway Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). He was a self employed dairy farmer and after retirement he worded at Good’s Store in East Earl.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Eva, wife of Ammon Martin, of Mifflinburg; Ella, wife of James Reiff, of Ephrata; Lena, wife of Aaron Martin, of Penn Yan, N.Y.; four sons: Lloyd, husband of Marlene (Shirk) Reiff, of Lititz; Harvey, husband of Ella Mae (Sensenig) Reiff, of Mifflinburg; Ivan, husband of Sharon (Sensenig) Reiff, of Lititz; Ammon Jr., husband of Jennifer (Weaver) Reiff, of Leola; son-in-law: Harry, husband of Alta (Brubaker) Oberholtzer, of Millmont; 36 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; a brother: David, husband of Lydia (Burkholder) Reiff, of Ephrata; three sisters: Lena, wife of Adam Sauder, of Penn Yan, N.Y.; Ella, wife of Harvey Zimmerman, of Ephrata; Anna, wife of Lawrence Ramer, of Goshen, Ind.; two sisters-in-law: Barbara (Martin) Zimmerman of New Holland; and Laura (Zimmerman) Reiff of Millmont.

In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters: Edna Oberholtzer, Anna Reiff; a son: Irvin Reiff; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers: Aaron and Eli Reiff.

Services were held Dec. 29 at Groffdale Old Order Mennonite Church, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
