Amos L. Martin, 89, a resident of Landis Homes, Lititz, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014. Amos was married to the late Vera (Stahl) Martin for 26 years before she passed away on May 20, 1984. His second wife, the late F. Eleanor (Weaver) Martin, passed away Nov.21, 2013 after she and Amos had celebrated 27 years of marriage. Born in Ephrata Township, Amos was a son of the late Amos O. and Annie G. (Landis) Martin. He was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church and worked as a kitchen cabinet installer for Rutt Custom Kitchens retiring in 1988. Amos is survived by two sons, Robert C. Martin of Ephrata; and Barry L. Martin, husband of Ruth, of Akron; one step-daughter: Sheryl, wife of Melvin Houck of Narvon; one step-son: Earl E. Weaver, husband of Barbara, of Manheim; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; two step-great-granddaughters; one sister: Nora Hoover of Ephrata; and three brothers: Melvin Martin, husband of Dorothy, of Terre Hill; Elam Martin, husband of Catherine, of Narvon; and Lloyd Martin, husband of Anna Mary, of Memphis, Miss. In addition to his wives and parents, Amos was preceded in death by one sister: Annie Weaver; and four brothers: Norman, Alvin, Marvin, and Clyde Martin. Friends will be received at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Hwy, Ephrata Township, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Sauder officiating. Place of interment will be the adjoining church cemetery.
