Anna G. Hopkins, 98, Boehringer’s Drive-In worker, Adamstown Woman’s Club president

Anna G. Hopkins, 98, formerly of Adamstown, died March 9, 2018, in Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, West Chester.

Born in West Reading, a daughter of the late George W. and Edna Mae (Werley) Oaks, her husband of 71 years, Kenneth Hopkins, died June 12, 2015.

A 1937 Reading High School graduate, Anna worked at various Air Force bases with her late husband, for Reading High School, Vanity Fair, Boehringer’s Drive-In and Bollman Hat Company. She was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ and was involved with youth fellowship at former St. Paul’s Church, Adamstown, a Girl Scout leader and former president of Adamstown Woman’s Club.

Anna never missed a Flyers game, loved bowling, playing cards, games (especially Mahjong) and supported her grand- and great-grandchildren’s sports events. Trips to Cape May with family and friends were special to her. She loved life and all it had to offer.

Surviving is her daughter: Gerry Ann (Eric L.) Flicker, West Chester; grandchildren: Andrea Youndt and Kimberly Evans; great-grandchildren: Olivia and Sidney Evans; step-grandchildren: Michael (Kim) Flicker and Scott (Michelle) Flicker; and step-great-grandchildren: Ryan and Kaitlyn Flicker.

A sister, Sara Kolb, predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, at 11 a.m. from Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver, with viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
