Anna Horning, 75, was factory, domestic worker

Anna B. Horning, 75, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County.

Born in Upper Leacock Township, she was the daughter of the late Franklin M. and Barbara L. (Oberholtzer) Horning.

A member of the Springville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference, Anna worked in local factories and as a domestic worker over the years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by three sisters: Lavina and Florence Horning, of Ephrata; and Ruth, wife of Paul M. Martin, of Liberty, Ky.; and two brothers: Reuben, husband of Sarah Ann (Sauder) Horning, of Akron; Franklin Jr., husband of Esther (Horning) Horning, of Myerstown; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law: Edna, wife of Lyman Sensenig, of Stevens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings: Lena Hoover, Clayton Horning, Leah and Ina Horning.

Funeral services were held on May 7 at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, Ephrata, with further services at the Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference) with Bishops Melvin H. Martin and Lester B. Martin and Ministers Walter Zimmerman and Wilmer Martin officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.
